Chartering a yacht for Cannes Film Festival is the most photogenic move of the festival weekend. The catch: prices roughly double during the 12-day window, berths in Vieux Port and Port Pierre Canto book out 6 to 12 months ahead, and most “festival yacht packages” are sold by brokers who do not own the boat. Here is the honest cost breakdown, the 4 charter tiers, and what to book and when.

The 4 charter tiers, lowest to highest
A small motor yacht or semi-rigid from Cannes, Cap d’Antibes or Golfe-Juan. You cruise the coast, anchor for lunch off Cap d’Antibes or Iles de Lerins, return in the evening. Skipper included. 4 to 8 people. No festival-zone access but the cheapest sea view of the Croisette.
- Best for: couples, small groups, cost-sensitive
- Per-person at 6 pax: €130 to €330 / day
- Does not enter the closed Vieux Port during festival
The festival-weekend sweet spot for groups of 6 to 12. Skipper plus hostess. Salon, deck, swim platform. Cruise to Cap d’Antibes for lunch, anchor off Cannes for sunset, return for the evening. Some packages include hospitality (champagne service).
- Best for: friend group of 8 to 10, brand activation, mid-budget commercial
- Per-person at 10 pax: €300 to €500 / day
- Festival premium: roughly 1.8x the off-season price
Crewed motor yacht with cabin access during the day. 10 to 20 guests. Catering, water toys, full hostess crew. The format used by smaller brand activations during the festival. Berthing in Vieux Port for the day if booked through the right operator.
- Best for: corporate hospitality, mid-tier brand activations, premium private events
- Per-person at 15 pax: €530 to €1,200 / day
- Catering and bar typically extra (10 to 20 percent on top)
The format used for studios, hedge funds and luxury brand premieres. Week-long charter (delivery to Cannes, festival, optional Mediterranean cruise after). Captain, crew, fuel within APA, full catering, water toys. Mooring in Vieux Port or Port Pierre Canto is a separate line item.
- Best for: corporate festival presence, multi-event week, family or group of 8 to 12
- Brokers: Fraser, Camper & Nicholsons, Edmiston, YachtCharterFleet, IYC
- Add 25 to 30 percent APA (Advance Provisioning Allowance) on top
- Add 22 percent VAT in EU waters

Berthing in Cannes (Vieux Port vs Port Pierre Canto)
| Yacht size | Vieux Port (12-day festival) | Port Pierre Canto (12-day) |
|---|---|---|

| 20 to 30m | €15,000 to €25,000 | €12,000 to €20,000 |

Vieux Port is the festival-side marina (walking distance to the Palais, prime brand activation zone, highest premium). Port Pierre Canto sits east of the Croisette and is calmer, slightly cheaper, and walking distance to Baoli, Bagatelle and the eastern beach clubs. Both fill 6 to 12 months ahead.
