Best Sunset Spots in Nice: 7 Views You Won’t Forget
Nice faces south-southwest. The sun drops into the Mediterranean most evenings of the year. Most coastal cities don’t get that. It means you can watch the sky turn orange from a dozen different spots, all free, all within the city. Some involve a short walk. One involves a cocktail. Here are the 7 best places to watch the sunset in Nice.

Best sunset spots in Nice
1 Castle Hill (Colline du Chateau)
The one everyone goes to, and the one that actually delivers. 360° view over the Baie des Anges, Old Town terracotta rooftops, and the Promenade curving along the coast. Take the elevator from Quai des Etats-Unis (free) or walk up the stairs from Old Town in 10 minutes. The main viewpoint facing west gets crowded in summer. Walk to the east side (port view) for more space and almost the same panorama.

👀 West + south panoramic view over Baie des Anges
2 Promenade des Anglais
The simplest option. The famous blue chairs face west. Grab a bottle of rose from a caviste on the way, sit on the pebbles or on a chair, and watch the sky change colours. It's crowded and noisy and completely atmospheric. Joggers, cyclists, families, couples. The whole city comes here. The stretch between Hotel Negresco and the airport has the widest view.
