4 Calade (Radisson Blu)

Calade rooftop restaurant at Radisson Blu Nice

8th floor of the Radisson Blu, directly on the Promenade des Anglais. The view is similar to La Terrasse but from a different angle. More of a restaurant than a bar, so come for dinner and stay for drinks. The food is Mediterranean, well-executed, mains around €25 to €35. Less of a "sunset drinks" spot, more of a "full evening" destination.

5 Farago on the Roof (AC Hotel Marriott) TEMPORARILY CLOSED

Farago on the Roof at AC Hotel Marriott Nice

⚠️ Temporarily closed. When open: 7th floor, with a view over the port, towards Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat. Different perspective from the Promenade rooftops: you see the yachts, the hill of the castle, and the coast stretching east. Mediterranean tapas and creative cocktails. Open later than most hotel rooftops, which makes it a good option for after-dinner drinks.

6 Bocca Nissa

Bocca Nissa terrace bar with city views Nice

Not a hotel rooftop. Independent terrace with panoramic city views, tapas bar, relaxed atmosphere. More of a city skyline than a sea panorama. The vibe is less corporate than the hotel options. You order small plates (tapas, planches) and share. Cocktails are a bit cheaper. The crowd is younger and louder. If you want a rooftop experience without the stiff hotel energy, this is the pick.

7 Rooftop Monsigny

Rooftop Monsigny seasonal terrace Nice

7th floor, seasonal opening May to September. The most "summer only" option on this list. Smaller terrace with city views (not sea-facing). Fewer tables, more intimate. It gets busy precisely because it's only open 5 months a year. When it's open, it's one of the better choices for a casual evening drink. When it's closed, you go somewhere else.

Practical tips

Frequently asked questions

Do rooftop bars in Nice have a dress code?

Most hotel rooftops (SEEN, La Terrasse, Calade) expect smart casual. No flip-flops, no shorts, no sportswear. Bocca Nissa and Monsigny are more relaxed. When in doubt, go smart casual.

Do I need a reservation?

For sunset drinks on Friday/Saturday in summer, yes. SEEN and La Terrasse fill up fast. Weekday evenings and off-season are usually walk-in friendly.

Which rooftop has the best sunset view?

Elaio at Le Meridien (9th floor, faces west over the sea) and Moon Bar at Aston La Scala (panoramic over Place Massena). Both have unobstructed sunset views.

How much do cocktails cost?

Cocktails range from €14 at Moon Bar to €22 at SEEN by Olivier. Beer is €8 to €12. A glass of rose runs €10 to €15. Budget €40 to €60 per person for a sunset session with 2 drinks.
